Second Day with Maelyn

We had a great second day with Maelyn. She is coming off of a good cold, but her spirits are high, and she learned to pick up objects and play with them. She is eating and sleeping well. Tomorrow morning, we leave for Tong Gu County, which is where Maelyn was born. It is a 4 hour bus ride from NanChang. We will be staying overnight, so we probably will not be posting any new information until our return to NanChang in a couple of days. Thanks for all the support and kind words. Thought for the day: If you ever get angry in traffic, just be glad you dont drive a car in NanChung. This place is crazy. We still cant figure out why they paint the stripes on the roads because no one cares. A mix of buses, cars, motorcycles, mopeds, bikers, and pedestrians going in all directions at all times. It is insane.

I'm so happy for your family and so glad that Maelyn is having an easy transition so far. I hope that the rest of the families in your group are experiencing the same. It is so great to see little Maelyn flourish with some love and attention.
About that traffic...yes it is a hierarchy. The bigger vehicles have the right of way and the pedestrians have no rights basically. Did Morgan tell you there is a fine for hitting a foreigner? Maybe he was just trying to make us feel better. Ha! Ha!.
Enjoy your time away from the city and honking horns. Can't wait to see more pictures and meet Maelyn in person. Maya keeps pointing to her picture and babbling very loudly.

Kelli & Dean,
WOW! I just logged on and read through the last few days of your trip. What an experience for all of you! Maelyn is beautiful and so lucky to have you both and Mason. I have so much respect for what you are doing for your new daughter. I send my best wishes for a your speedy and healthy return. BTW...Kelli, bet you never thought that all those squats in Group Power were just to get you ready to use the toilet there!
